I was talking to my Mom the other day about Grandma's s'mores. They are a breeze to make, but I wanted to be doubly sure I got it right. I wasn't quite sure if she baked or broiled them. I was right though, you broil them. I also discovered that my Grandma never did make this treat for my Mom growing up. This made me feel even more special, in that these were designed and lovingly made for my Brother and I, her Grandkids. You'd of thought over the years we would have made these treats for ourselves, but I don't recall ever doing this until the urge overtook me this week to do just that.
Oven S'mores
Ingredients:
Graham Crackers
Hershey's Milk Choclate Bar
Marshmellows
Directions:
1. Place your oven rack in the middle position of the oven and turn the broiler on to the High setting.
2. Place one half of a graham cracker on a baking sheet, and top it with two squares of chocolate and one marshmellow.
3. Let it sit under the broiler until the top of the marshmellow is golden brown and the chocolate is starting to look soft, about 1-2 minutes.
4. Once removed from oven, top with the second half of the graham cracker. Press down and devour quickly!
What a great idea! I tend to roast the marshmallows on the gas flame on my stove top! I like this idea because it melts the chocolate a bit too. Can't wait to try this! And your Grandma really did rock! :)
ReplyDeleteMy cousin wrote me with a good idea to try. Instead of a chunk of chocolate, try a Reece's Peanut Butter Cup. Sounds delish, doesn't it???
